TEMPERATURE MONITORING & ALARM SYSTEM FOR KIL - CMS COMPUTERS HAS DEVELOPED A COMPUTER-BASED TEMPERATURE MONITORING AND ALARM SYSTEM (TMAS) FOR TILE AND BRICK FACTORIES, CERAMIC AND SUCH OTHER INDUSTRIES AND IS IDEAL FOR PLACES WHERE INDUSTRIAL HEATING IS A MAJOR ACTIVITY, MONITORING OF TEMPERATURES AT VARIOUS CHAMBERS ON A REGULAR BASIS, HAS BECOME HIGHLY ESSENTIAL FOR MAINTAINING PRODUCT QUALITY AS WELL AS TO CONSERVE ENERGY. THE SYSTEM CONSISTS OF A NUMBER OF THERMOCOUPLES TO MONITOR THE TEMPERATURES OF VARIOUS CHAMBERS AND A STATE-OF-THE-ART MICROPROCESSOR SYSTEM TO COLLECT AND COLLATE THE TEMPERATURE DATA TO BE SENT TO A PC, WHICH COULD BE LOCATED IN A CONVENIENT PLACE, AS FAR AWAY AS 1 KM. VERSATILE AND EXTREMELY USER-FRIENDLY APPLICATION SOFTWARE RUNNING IN THE PC ANALYSES THE DATA, IDENTIFIES ALARM CONDITIONS, AND ALERTS THE CONCERNED, THROUGH APPROPRIATE ALARMS. THIS IS APPLICABLE TO A MANUAL SYSTEM, AS IS THE CASE WITH MOST TRADITIONAL TILE AND BRICK FACTORIES, WHERE FIREWOOD IS THE FUEL. THE PC THEN CONTINUES TO MONITOR IF REQUIRED ACTIONS HAVE BEEN TAKEN AND THE DESIRED RESULTS ARE BEING OBTAINED, AS OTHERWISE ALARMS ARE SOUNDED AGAIN AND AGAIN USING OF A PRE-PROGRAMMED TEMPERATURE PROFILE GRAPH CREATED FOR THE SPECIFIC APPLICATION AND STORED IN THE PC, FOR COMPARISON WITH THE ACTUAL TEMPERATURE VALUES ON A CONTINUOUS BASIS. IN ADDITION, THERE IS FACILITY FOR ENTERING PRODUCTION DATA ALSO, FOR MIS PURPOSES. TMAS WAS DEVELOPED BY CMS COMPUTERS LTD, AS A SPONSORED PROJECT OF ENERGY MANAGEMENT CENTRE (EMC), GOVERNMENT OF KERALA, THE COMPANY ALSO OFFERES ADVANCED VERSION OF THE SYSTEM FOR INDUSTRIES USING FUELS OTHER THAN FIRE WOOD IS ALSO AVAILABLE.
